We research artificial intelligence that people can understand and interact with naturally in everyday life. An independent project from Mexico, with a different perspective.

GBA brings together media, engineering and applied research. Our work on ANIMA explores approachable artificial intelligence: understandable, relevant and guided by each person’s decisions.
We care about interaction that supports everyday life: people, family, stories and places that connect us. Designing for that reality calls for clarity, continuity and respect for personal agency.
GBA IS THE NAME OF OUR ORGANIZATION.
Three areas of work with a shared purpose: technology and content that people can understand and make their own.
We explore relevant conversation, continuity and a relationship with AI that each person can understand and control.
Explore the researchWe develop prototypes and tools that turn research questions into systems we can test and evaluate.

Editorial contactANIMA explores a familiar everyday presence: relevant conversation, continuity and memory under the person’s control. Accessibility means understanding the interaction, participating naturally and deciding how AI fits into one’s own life.
Study how to interpret each turn in relation to a previous question, proposal or situation. Clarify uncertainty and acknowledge actual limitations.
Investigate how to make AI’s capabilities and limitations clear, adapt interaction to different needs and let people redirect a conversation.
Explore consent-based memory that can be inspected, corrected and deleted, and adjustable initiative. An interaction that respects silence and life beyond the screen.
We separate technical integrity, conversational relevance, behavior and measured resources. A visible history is not semantic memory; passing a technical check does not demonstrate understanding. Proposed methods need a baseline comparison and independent validation. We do not claim consciousness, clinical capability or general understanding as ANIMA results.
A digital conversation can be valuable. It can also end when someone returns to their community, rests or continues with their day.
We distinguish hypotheses, prototypes and measured results. A visual demonstration does not replace an evaluation of usefulness or resources.
GBA Forge develops the tools and prototypes that give shape to our ideas. We assess design through people’s experience and results we can review.
GBA is a young, independent project combining software development, media and applied research. Santiago Hernández leads its direction and ecosystem development.
We work iteratively: concrete research questions, reviewable prototypes and evaluation of people’s experience.
